M1935 Heer Normandy Camouflaged Single Decal German Combat Helmet "Veteran Bringback" & "Named"

This is a nice desirable M1935 Heer Normandy Camo German Combat Helmet.   This Normandy Camo has a super patina.   The helmet retains about 75% of the Normandy Pattern Camouflage paint.  The paint has those classic colors that we see in the Normandy Pattern helmets with the Tan base, Brownish Red, and Green.   The helmet has a nice Rough texture reissue paint underneath the camo.  The original M31 liner is the single steel banded type, most likely around 1942.   The band has some corrosion and I just can't make out any date stamps or maker marks.   The liner band is size 55.   The liner leather exhibits typical combat wear and the leather is in fairly good condition.  The name of the German soldier is etched in the inner and it appears to be Leidacher.

All three rivets are present, snug, and match the exterior paint and patina.   The original chinstrap is intact but is fairly dry, and exhibits some cracking especially around the bends where the helmet is up over the visor.   The strap appears to be the original issue strap as it is dated 1936.    The Heer Decal rates at 70% and exhibits a lot of wear and some age cracking.   There appears to be another decal underneath, which resulting in the cracking.   Most likely the decal has been uncovered during the post war period.  There is also evidence on the right side of the National Colors decal as there is cracking in the paint that often results from having a decal underneath.   This M35 Heer is a Q62 indicating manufacture by the Quist Firm in Esslingen, Germany.  The production run number is 951indicating a very early Pre-War produced piece.  Overall,  this is a great Normandy Camo that just oozes plenty of character.  This helmet comes direct from the Grandson of the US Army Veteran that brought this one back.   According to the grandson, the Vet did enter the War during the Normandy Campaign.  This helmet, as with all my helmets, comes with a Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity.
