M1938 German Luftwaffe Fallschirmjager (Paratrooper) Single Decal Combat Helmet "Veteran Bringback from 101st Airborne Veteran"

This is an very clean M38 Fallschirmjager Combat helmet.  This M38 has an overall super patina with about 95+% of the original rough texture field gray paint still intact.  The liner is in nice condition with no rips or tears and a nice overall butterscotch color to the leather.  The liner is correct and original to the helmet.  The liner is a size 55, which is correct based on the size 66 Shell.   The liner is stamped by the maker, FW Muller Jr.   All seven black rubber pads are present.  The harness type straps are fully intact.  The leather straps do exhibit some typical cracking.  The natural leather chamois inner lining in the straps are cracked in areas as well.   The clip to fasten the straps together has pulled loose from the strap but is still present and is hooked on the other strap.  An interesting feature in this FJ is that the grommets are made from Brass.   I had the helmet examined by noted M38 authority and collector, Terry Goodapple and he said that this was the first time he has encountered brass grommets out of thousands of FJ helmets he has handled.   All of the strap components are there.  The bolts are the mid to late War Aluminum Slotted type.  The bolts still retain both inner hexagon nuts, and all hardware and components are untouched.  The 2nd Pattern Luftwaffe Adler rates at about 70% intact with nice toning and typical field wear.   The helmet is an ET66, indicating manufacture by the Eisenhuttenwerke firm in Thale, Germany.  The production run number is 5069.   This M38 FJ was brought back by US Army Veteran, Shorty Gardner, from Ossian, New York.   Gardner was a member of the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles", made very popular by the HBO series, "Band of Brothers".   Gardner participated in four jumps including D-Day during the Normandy Invasion.    This solid M38 Fallschirmjager helmet comes with my Written Lifetime Guarantee and Certificate of Authenticity.

Cash, Check, Money Order, PayPal, Visa/MasterCard, and Bank Transfer are all accepted.   I also am pleased to accept layaways.   Simply pay 1/2 down, then pay the remaining balance within 30 days.  Once the balance is paid, I will ship your item promptly. 

There will be a 4.0% fee for PayPal purchases. For PayPal, simply provide me with your e-mail address and the item(s) you want and I will forward you a PayPal invoice.   MasterCard/Visa purchases include a 2% processing fee for US Orders, and 3.5% processing fee for international orders.

SHIPPING 

Items will be shipped after the check clears for items paid with personal checks. 

Shipping will be handled on a quote basis.  Generally I use USPS Priority Mail, but UPS & FedEx shipping is available as well.   

International shipping is also on a quote by quote basis.  I will ship to any country that shipping is available.   Be advised that if you are in a banned country, the risk for customs seizure is yours.  I normally use USPS Priority Mail, but bear in mind that their tracking capabilities are limited.  For the best tracking and fastest transit time, I recommend United Parcel Service, International Door to Door Service.
