M1918 Transitional Kriegsmarine Single Decal German Helmet

This is an absolutely beautiful Rare Original M18 Transitional Kriegsmarine German Helmet. Transitional Kriegsmarine helmets are extremely rare. Many experts consider the Kriegsmarine, the most rare, even when compared to Waffen SS helmets. This, coupled with the fact that this is a Transitional M1918, this helmet is VERY RARE. This helmet is complete with the liner and chin strap. This Kriegsmarine helmet also has the rough texture which was typical of a field applied period re-paint. You can see in areas the original Field gray/green paint as well. It is clear that this helmet saw extended field use. The Kriegsmarine Eagle decal is roughly 50% and much of the Gold flake that is typical of Kriegsmarine is still present. The decal is snuggled nicely into the rough texture indicating that it is clearly a period decal and is totally authentic.

The helmet also has the correct period M1931 liner and has not been tampered with. The leather in the liner is fairly pliable and overall in very good condition. The chin strap has a maker mark but it is not clear due to wear. I guarantee that this is an authentic period chin strap. The chin strap is in very good condition, but a little dry, which is very typical of a 60+ year old chin strap. All of the rivets are intact, tight and have not been removed. The rivets are the correct brass coated as well. I cannot locate the manufacturers stamp due to the rough texture paint. The liner is size 55, and I believe that the shell is most likely a 64 based on the lugs. This is a fantastic authentic Kriegsmarine helmet that clearly saw action during World War II. This extremely rare M1918 Transitional Kriegsmarine German Helmet will make a terrific addition to your collection.  This is an investment grade helmet.

M1942 Army Heer Single Decal German Helmet

This is one of the more intriguing helmets that I have encountered.   This M1942 Single Decal Heer was possibly worn by a Waffen SS Norwegian or Dutch Volunteer.   On the right inside of the helmet, there is a very distinctive Nordic Rune symbol skillfully etched into the helmet.  The Rune symbol etching is clearly period done.   The Rune is also known as the 'Wolfsangel' symbol.   I have opinions from several experts and they agree that there is a distinct possibility that a Waffen SS Volunteer Trooper was issued this helmet.   It was common practice for Waffen SS volunteers to be issued whatever was available at the time.   The 'Wolfsangel' symbol was also used by the 2nd SS Panzer Division.   One thing for sure, is that this symbol in the helmet is clearly the Nordic Rune, 'Wolfsangel'.   Now, why this is present in this helmet will never be for certain.

This M1942 Heer has not been altered and is guaranteed to be 100% authentic.   The helmet retains most of the Original Field Green finish.  The Heer Eagle decal is nicely snuggled into the texture of the helmet, and is close to 100% intact.   The decal is nicely toned as well.  This M1942 Heer Single Decal German Helmet was manufactured by the Sachsische Emaillier firm in Lauter, Germany.   The maker stamp, hkp 66 is clearly visible in the correct area in the back inside of the helmet, and indicates a nice size 66.  The production run number, 1278 is nicely stamped as well.

The only drawback to this beautiful helmet is the leather liner had to be removed.  The helmet is also missing the chinstrap. The Veteran that brought this helmet back applied some sort of goop to 'preserve' it and ruined the liner.   This could easily be remedied by putting in a correct size period liner, which are available in the $150 range.   The value of this helmet could easily approach $800-$1,000 with a good liner.   The paint and decal are in fantastic condition, and this helmet will make a very nice display piece.    The Aluminum liner band is still with the helmet as are the rivets and pins.  The liner band has the correct manufacturer stamp, Schuberth-Werke Braunschweig 1940.

This M1942 German Helmet is a rare and unusual find and would make a great addition to your collection.

Lightweight Early Parade Double Decal Heer CLICK HERE to see more pictures
Lightweight Parade Heer Double Decal German Helmet

This is one of the most unusual helmets I have encountered.   At first glance, the absolute minty condition of this helmet concerned me.   However, the more I looked at it the more convinced I was with regard to it being an Authentic Early prewar helmet.   I posted this helmet on the Militaria Collector Forum for opinions and the concensus was that the decals are the real thing.   Tom Kibler also was forwarded pictures and concurred.

This helmet appears to be an Early Lightweight Parade Heer helmet.  The helmet is made of aluminum and is very light.   The decals are fantastic minty examples of the Early Grey lined Heer Decal and the National Colors Decal.   The paint is also the correct early Apple Green color.  The paint has been preserved better than any helmet I have seen.   The paint does have a few nicks and some wear along the edges, but overall is in great condition.

The liner is made of wool and has a leather headband.  The liner and chinstrap both exhibit the appropriate aging you would expect on a 70 year old piece.   The Chinstrap is made of leather and is definitely a period strap.   The liner does have some slight moth damage.

Overall, the helmet is in an unbelievable state of preservation.    There were no maker marks or any other identifying marks.  I am going to continue to research and will add any further information deemed useful.  This helmet is 100% authentic and comes with my usual Certificate of Authenticity and Lifetime Guarantee.   The piece will make a great addition to any High End collection.

M1935 Kriegsmarine Single Decal "Named" German Helmet

This is a very nice Combat worn Original M1935 Kriegsmarine Single Decal German Helmet.   Kriegsmarine helmets are extremely rare.  Many experts consider the Kriegsmarine, the most rare, even when compared to Waffen SS helmets.   This Kriegsmarine helmet has about 65-70% of the original Parade finish paint.

The Kriegsmarine Eagle decal is roughly 75-80% and has the proper layering that you expect in an Authentic Kriegsmarine Decal.   The decal is a deep Gold and exhibits nice age cracks.   The helmet also has a correct period M31 Single Band liner and was replaced by the previous owner.   According to the previous owner, the original leather was completely deteriorated.  He did use a correct liner and the Split Pins are original to the helmet.  The leather in the liner is fairly pliable and overall in good condition, part of the band is broken, which was common with the Original Single band liners, thus the introduction of the Double banded reinforced liner.

An added bonus to this helmet is that it is a Named helmet.  The name, "Beckmann" is nicely painted in the Inner back skirt.  The paint is also nicely cracked with age and is clearly War time applied.    The manufacturers mark is nicely stamped, ET64.  ET indicates that the helmet was manufactured by the Eisenhuttenwerke firm in Thale, Germany.  The production number is 3679.  This is a fantastic authentic Kriegsmarine helmet that clearly saw action during World War II.  This rare German Helmet will make a terrific addition to your collection.  This helmet, as with all my helmets, comes with a Written Lifetime guarantee of Authenticity.
