M1935 Heer Double Decal German Helmet

This is an original M1935 Heer Double Decal German helmet.   This Heer German helmet retains approximately 75% of the original over-paint.  The original apple green parade finish is exposed in a number of areas.  The helmet appears to have been a full over-paint and someone attempted to clean it off.  They must have realized the error of their ways and ceased, but not before uncovering both decals and removing some over-paint.  But the helmet still has a nice look especially on the left side and it is after all, an original Double Decal Heer helmet.   The Split pin rivets are fully intact and do appear original to the helmet.   The front two pins are devoid of any factory finish, most likely victims of the cleaning.  This German helmet has the original aluminum reinforced M1931 liner typically found in the helmets issued between 1938-1940.  The band size 56 and is date stamped 1939.   The liner leather is in good supple condition with typical wear.   The original drawstring is present.  The liner leather is named in two areas, but the names were marked over.   The original aluminum buckled chinstrap is present and is full length.  The strap is maker marked and is in fair condition.   The strap is dry and does have a fair amount of cracking and should be handled with care to prevent breakage.  The Heer decal has a nice overall look and rates at 90%.   The Tricolor rates at 75% with more evidence of cleaning to uncover.  The helmet is an SE64 indicating manufacture by the Sachsische Emaillier u. Stanzwerke, Lauter, Germany.   The lot number is 3453.  As with all our WWII German helmets, this M1935 Heer German helmet comes with our Lifetime Guarantee and Certificate of Authenticity.

M1918 Heer "Reissue" Single Decal German Helmet

This is an authentic M1918 Heer German helmet.   This is a nice example of the WWI M1918 being reissued for use during mid WWII.  The exterior retains 90% or better of the mid war field gray rough texture paint.  There are some red scuffs on the helmet, most likely from storage.  It is minor and not a detraction to the nice overall look.   All three split pins are fully intact and are original to the helmet.   The helmet has the original steel banded M1931 liner.  The liner band is too tight to see the date but it is size 55.   The liner leather is in nice solid condition with no tears or major stains.  The drawstring is a post war replacement.  The original mid to late war strap is present and is good overall condition.   The strap does have some dry areas with cracks and needs to be handled with care to prevent breakage.  The strap doesn't appear to have any maker markings.  The Heer decal looks great and rates at 95% with several light scuffs.  The helmet is maker marked but only the 62 is legible.  As with all our helmets, this M1918 German Heer helmet comes with our Lifetime Guarantee and Certificate of Authenticity.

M1940 Heer Single Decal DAK/Tropical Camouflaged German Helmet

This is a great combat seasoned M1940 Heer DAK/Tropical Camouflaged Single Decal German helmet.   This WWII German helmet retains around 50% of the original DAK/Tropical paint.  The camouflaged paint certainly is typical of the color seen most often on helmets used in North Africa by Rommel's famed Afrikakorps.  There is quite a bit of wear and paint loss, especially in the dome area.  The split pin rivets are fully intact and are original to the helmet.  This German helmet has the correct and original M1931 steel banded liner.  The liner is size 56 and the band is date stamped 1940.  The liner leather is in fair overall condition with some typical chaffing and dryness.  The liner does have "8th Panzer Division" written in the leather.  It is written in English so it's possible that an Allied soldier that captured the piece wrote that in there.   There is also a name of a German soldier with the rank of Gefreiter, however the name is not quite legible.  The original drawstring is present and matches the wear of the liner.  The ET type Heer decal rates at 80%.   The original chinstrap is present and is appears to be original to the helmet.  The helmet is an ET64 indicating manufacture by the Eisenhuttenwerke firm in Thale, Germany.   The lot number is 361 indicating a fairly early M1940.  As with all our WWII German helmets, this M1940 Heer German helmet comes with our Lifetime Guarantee and Certificate of Authenticity.

M1935 Luftwaffe "Over-paint" Double Decal German Helmet

This is an authentic M1935 Double Decal Luftwaffe German helmet.  This WWII Luftwaffe German helmet retains around 90% of the original Luftwaffe Blue/Gray over-paint.   The helmet appears to be a fairly early over-paint as the helmet is a low lot number as well it received a new Tricolor decal as well as the Luftwaffe decal overtop of the over-paint.  The Split pin rivets are original to the helmet.  This German helmet has the correct aluminum reinforced M1931 liner.  The band is dated 1939 and is size 59.  The liner leather is in good overall condition.  The original drawstring is present as well.  The original aluminum buckled chinstrap is present and is in good overall condition.  The second pattern Luftwaffe decal rates at 40% with quite a bit of wear.  The National Colors decal rates at 65%.   The Tricolor has striations and age cracking.   There are remnants of lacquer and other decals that were likely placed on the helmet on both sides in the post war era and they have since been removed.   The helmet is a Q66 indicating manufacture by the FW Quist firm in Esslingen, Germany.   The lot number is 249 indicating an early produced M1935.  As with all our WWII German helmets, this M1935 Luftwaffe German helmet comes with our Lifetime Guarantee and Certificate of Authenticity.

M1935 Luftwaffe Three Color "Normandy Camouflaged" German Helmet

This is an authentic M1935 Luftwaffe Three Color Normandy Pattern Camouflaged German helmet.  This WWII Luftwaffe German helmet retains around 60% of the classic Normandy pattern camouflaged paint.   The camo paint is the classic tan base with dark red and dark green spray.   The exterior displays quite a bit of paint loss as a result of heavy field use.   This is certainly a piece that didn't sit on the sidelines.   The most paint loss is in the dome area which is fairly typical.  The Split pin rivets are original to the helmet and fully intact.  This German helmet has the correct zinc galvanized single banded M1931 liner and was most likely a 1940 or 1941 reissue. The band is dated 1940 and is size 57.  The liner leather is in good overall condition with a hole from a mouse at some point in time.  The original drawstring is present as well.  The drawstring is in good solid condition and was threaded through the middle holes.   I have just left it as I found it.  There was a name written in the leather but it's been marked out.  The original chinstrap is present and is in nice condition.  The strap is dated 1941 and is maker marked as well as full length.  There is evidence of the second pattern Luftwaffe decal under the camo paint.  There is no evidence of the National Colors decal, which was most likely removed as per the 1940 regulations.   The helmet is an SE64 indicating manufacture by the Sachsische Emaillier u. Stanzwerke, Lauter, Germany.   The lot number is 4723.  Overall, just a great looking, "been there, done that" Normandy Camouflaged helmet.  As with all our WWII German helmets, this M1935 Luftwaffe German helmet comes with our Lifetime Guarantee and Certificate of Authenticity.

M1940 Luftwaffe Camouflaged Single Decal German Helmet - Veteran Bringback

This is a helmet that is simply high on the chart with character.  This is a desirable M1940 SD Luftwaffe German helmet.  This WWII Luftwaffe German helmet apparently spent time in Tunisia, North Africa during the desert campaigns of 1943.  My research shows the Feld Post L45904 being attributed to a unit that served in North Africa, Flak Battery Regiment 53.    The base camouflaged paint is definitely the pink-tan color typically found on the North African camo helmets.  The helmet appears to have received green camo paint overtop of the tan, which is likely a result of the soldier being moved to another theatre of operation, most likely Western Europe, France or Belgium.  The helmet retains 75-80% of the original camouflaged paint.   There are areas in which there still is a lot of sand in the paint.  There is typical wear and paint loss in the dome area and around the helmet.  This is certainly a helmet that didn't sit the war out.    The Split pin rivets are fully intact and are clearly original to the helmet.  This German helmet has the correct steel banded M1931 liner.   The liner band is size 55.  The liner leather is in nice solid condition with the original drawstring present.  There is nice tan overspray around the liner band.  The original chinstrap is present and is in good overall condition.  There are remnants of the second pattern in several areas.  The name "Kan. Puls" was originally painted in the inner skirt near a chinstrap bale in white paint and was spray over once it was camouflaged in tan.  "Kan" would indicate rank of Kannonier, which certainly ties in well with being a member of a Flak Battery.  The name Pols is also written in pencil and painted as well with the Feld Post number.  It seems that this helmet belonged to the same soldier for the duration of the war based on the naming in three areas at different times.   The maker markings are obscured by camo paint but I believe the helmet is a Q62, indicating manufacture by the FW Quist firm in Esslingen, Germany.  The lot number is obscured by camouflaged paint as well.  This helmet was brought back by a US Army Veteran from Washington State and his name will be provided to the buyer.  Overall, just a beautiful example of the highly sought after German camouflaged combat helmet.   As with all our WWII German helmets, this M1940 Luftwaffe DAK German helmet comes with our Lifetime Guarantee and Certificate of Authenticity.

M1935 Luftwaffe "Over-Paint" German Helmet

This is a really interesting and unusual M1935 Luftwaffe German helmet.  This WWII Luftwaffe German helmet retains around 95% of what appears to be a field applied field gray over-paint.   The rear of the helmet has an early green paint along the rear of the helmet.  It appears that something was glued to the back side when the helmet received the field gray over-paint.  The are remnants of possibly what was a neck flap.  A possible theory is it may have been used as a Luftwaffe fire brigade at an airfield.  It's really hard to speculate as to why the paint is the way it is, but the over-paint seems consistent with period field gray over-paints.  Overall, the helmet has a nice patina.  The Split pin rivets appear are original to the helmet.  This German helmet has the correct single banded M1931 liner.  The liner band is dated 1940 and was a wartime refit, which is fairly common with M35s.  The liner appears to size 58.  The liner leather is in good overall condition but is missing the drawstring.  The original chinstrap is present but it is broken and in poor condition.  The helmet began its life as a double decal as both are underneath the over-paint.  The helmet is a desirable Q66 indicating manufacture by the FW Quist firm in Esslingen, Germany.   The lot number is 3589 indicating a fairly early produced M1935.  This helmet comes direct from a Vet family in Maryland.  I am trying to obtain the information of the vet at the present time.  As with all our WWII German helmets, this M1935 Luftwaffe German helmet comes with our Lifetime Guarantee and Certificate of Authenticity.
